Interview: Havan Fellows

Hello and welcome to this new blog. I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I am. Please don't hesitate to "follow" me and to comment. It's always good to hear from you!
To begin with my interviews, I’m giving you the wonderful Havan Fellows, a great writer who also happens to be the yang to my yin. And she's so fantastic that she's giving away an e-book for those of you who will comment on this post. But be careful, this give away will end on June 11th. Good reading! Let's begin, shall we?

*cracks knuckles and neck* Alrighty then...when I first did this interview with my beautiful yin...Jade *winks*...I was not in the best place—I was all ehh and a little blah with a touch of pfft to boot...and needless to say it showed in the interview. Well my yin *eyes again* threw the gauntlet down and practically challenged me to do another interview with her that oozed Havan-esque personality...(um—not sure what Havan-esque personality is and definitely pretty sure I don't want it oozing on me...but that's a-whole-nother issue entirely! hehe)

Sooooooo...here I am with the revised interview just for my wonderfully delish Jade...

In the morning, you are tea or coffee?

Pfft...coffee times about 3 or 4...lol *holds up cup and points* 4 baby...hehe

What kind of books do you write?

Hopefully the type that not only entertain but can force a wardrobe change...*winks*...my inquisitive mind does love to visit the M/M genre

Why did you choose this genre?

The voices in my head like their men...who am I to say no considering I kinda like their men too?

When you write, are you keyboard or paper?

Keyboard for sure...but if I get an idea and there isn't a keyboard around I keep a calendar in my purse that has never been used for anything but note taking...I can't even see the days in certain months because of it...lol

Are you more motivated to write when the sun shines or when the weather is gray?

Um...again when the voices talk to me, they tend to be demanding—really the weather doesn't factor in.

Where do you find your inspiration?

From deadlines sneaking up on me...or whips cracking in the background...and if both happen at the same time um...oh yeah...

When you start a book, do you already have the whole story in your head, or is it built progressively?

I've had it all ways...um...well I mean both ways *winks*

How do you feel before the release of a book? Fear, joy? And after?

My emotions are a wreck...I'm Italian and German so everything I feel is tenfold it seems—I'm a very melodramatic type of person...lol

Between your first and last novel, do you feel a change? Do you write differently?

*pats my chest and assets* Nope...doesn't feel different to me. Oh—not what you meant? *blushes* I like to think I get more fluid (no, I didn't say more fluids...*heads desk*) I'm polishing my very first novel right now actually...and you will not believe the things I'm seeing that I know shouldn't have ever been used/written like that...it's heartbreaking to think my writing was so ragged at one point because in my mind I've always been brilliant. (well isn't everyone?)

They say that writers project themselves into the skin and into the head of his hero / heroine, is that the case for you?

Yes and no—I can identify with a lot of the traits my characters have...but I don't have a specific character that I can point to and say "That is me!" No matter what my friends and family may think about a certain man I wrote.

Do you define yourself more like a bookworm, a city mouse or a country mouse?

How about a lost mouse with a lust for books? Is that one available?

Molière said: “Writing is like prostitution. First we write for the love of it, then for a few friends, and in the end for money.” What do you think about it?

I want to look at you and say that I write just for the pure beauty of it...then I get a royalty check and smile and say thank you. Honestly, I write because I have to, I feel alive and happy when I'm creating something that someone else may enjoy. Not to mention it shuts up the voices in my head. But everyone likes getting paid to do what they love...and in the end I'm human just like everyone else.

Have your books already been translated?

Not yet, but a girl can dream :) In fact...I happen to be very close to a French beauty that I may have to corner and take advantage off...in more than one way...*raises brow*

Do you pay attention to literary criticism?

I try not to—unless it is constructive criticism...I'm by no means a genius or expert at anything, if someone wants to help me further my craft I say thank you. The fact of the matter is I have a hard enough time pleasing myself, let alone everyone else. So I'll do what I can and just hope and pray that some people find something to enjoy out of it.

The days are 25 hours. You spend that extra hour in the garden or in the kitchen?

Well it's been a long time since I've done anything in a garden...you know the dirt gets into places that...what? *leans closer to Jade* Oh...again not what you meant? Well in that case I'm reading about what I shouldn't be doing in the garden or kitchen.

What is the book you would bring with you on a deserted island?

Now come on—I need to know some more details before I answer this...am I alone or do I have a handsome island native keeping me company? Are we stuck there or there on our own accord? Do we have enough honey? These are important facts to know...*winks*

In the evening, do you turn off the light directly or do you take the time to read?

If I stayed up after my bedtime trying to write something—straight to dreamland...but if I went to bed on time oh heck yes I read.

Thank you for allowing me to ooze on you...*winks*...and just because you are such an awesome sport about it, Jade and I are offering up a prize for being such a great visitor! I'm giving away an e-book from my backlist—all you have to do to enter is leave a comment telling us what you think of Jade's new blog! Here are two of my latest releases for you to peruse also.

Wish Me Nothing

Ar and Vaughn have a great relationship. When Vaughn makes a simple slip of the tongue, Ar's life is put in jeopardy. Whatever you do, don't say "I wish".

Ever hear the old saying "Be careful what you wish for"?

What happens if you find out that the Djin are not just fairy tales? That could be bad. Now, what happens if you find out that your boyfriend of a year and a half is a Djin? That could be worse.

In one fateful night, Vaughn Boggs's world is turned inside out. Not only does he find out his boyfriend, Ar, is keeping a life shattering secret from him. But when other Djin threaten Ar's life Vaughn has to work with Shan, Ar's lecherous brother, to find a way for them all to survive so they can see the next sunrise.

Vaughn isn't sure a human can take on the magicks of the Djin, and he definitely isn't sure he can trust Shan...but for Ar he's willing to wish that both are possible.

Sometimes, the only way for justice to prevail is to get a little Wicked…

Who knew that meant Wick Templeton would end up on the wrong side of the cell door and looking for trouble. The kind of trouble that lands inmates on the funny farm and turns their brains into jelly.

Now he’s calling in favors and using his prize weapon—his charm and subtle wit—to plant himself smack dab in the middle of the party. With help from his willing friends and not-so-willing acquaintances, he plans to rule the cellblock. Criminals, watch out. Wick’s burning, and nobody better get in his way.

Caution: With Wick in jail anything can happen. A little mild violence and a whole of attitude never hurt anyone.
